(Cape Town - Swellendam - Mossel Bay - Knysna - Tsitsikamma - Oudtshoorn - Cape Town)
This tour includes upmarket guest house accommodation, dinner, bed and breakfast and all entrances, and profiles a fabulous part of the country with scenery ranging from forests to seascapes, from semi-desert to lakes and waterways, stunning mountain passes, varied architecture and unique vegetation.
Day 1
Depart from Cape Town and travel via the spectacular Sir Lowry's Pass and thru the wheat fields of the Western Cape to historic and architecturally quaint Swellendam, then on to Mossel Bay with its famous Diaz Museum and the Old Post Office Tree; continue along the coast via the Wilderness and spend the first night in Knysna -Dinner, Bed and Breakfast;
Day 2
After a leisurely breakfast, continue to scenic Plettenberg Bay, then Nature's Valley, the Storm's River Mouth and the Tsitsikamma Forest; return to Knysna in the late afternoon - Dinner, Bed and Breakfast;
Day 3
After a leisurely breakfast, depart Knysna across the
lakes and thru the forests to reach the town of George by
midday; the journey continues over the magnificent Outeniqua
Pass into the semi-desert Little Karoo, to reach the ostrich
capital of the world, Oudtshoorn, by early afternoon;
activities here include a short visit to the CP Nel Museum,
the Cango Wildlife Ranch and/or the Cango Caves. The
overnight stop is a working ostrich farm - with ostrich on
the menu tonight! - Dinner, Bed and Breakfast.
Day 4
This morning the route is westwards via Calitzdorp (the Port wine capital of the Karoo) and then into the heart of the Breede River Valley and the wine, Muscadel and fruit centres of Robertson, picturesque Montagu and Worcester. The final leg of the tour is via the spectacular Du Toit's Kloof Pass and thru the winelands of Paarl to end in the City of Cape Town at around 17:00.
